We are going to our new friends’ house for dinner tonight. They are inviting several young couples who are new to the area over for dinner and games. I asked if I could bring anything and the hostess encouraged me to bring dessert.
I’m going to get it at a local bakery. My question is… I can get a whole chocolate by death or strawberry shortcake dessert (their two most popular desserts) for $ 22.95… OR for the same price I could get 17 Mini desserts which are basically just little individual versions of the big desserts. I’m leaning toward doing the mini desserts and just set them out on a pretty platter so everyone has a variety to choose from. There will only be 8 in attendance so everyone would be able to have 2.
Do you think it would look better to take the one whole cake, or the platter of minis?

I’ve been really bored without any good books to read. Generally I like fantasy/sci-fi. I’ve already read lots of series like Twilight, Host, Inheritance, Uglies, Hunger Games, Ender’s Game (which i can’t find), Mortal Instruments, etc.
What I’m really looking for is a book that is actually original. Just like when Harry Potter came out, all the teen books are suddenly inundated with this:
Teen falls in love with vampire/werewolf/other and discovers a world/school/realm of said supernatural creatures. I’m tired of all this “institutionalized vampirism”. It doesn’t have to be a whole world full of these supernatural things. That kind of takes the specialness out of it, don’t you think?
Some favorites of mine include The Gargoyle, Dan Brown’s Lost Symbols, the first set of the Thomas Covenant series, even classics like Frankenstein and White Fang. And I really did like the Twilight series, but Stephanie Meyer lays on the lovestruck teenage theme too much. Oooh and Eldest- the 2nd book in the Inheritance cycle is another favorite.
For the record, Gunnerkrigg Court is an awesome webcomic that personifies my idea of a great book.
Does anything come to mind?
I have a water color painting, I am trying to identify the artist and find some history on this person. It looks like
‘Eugene E Lae iere’ with a fancy ‘D’ or ‘P’ to the right under the name. It is of a hallway with a fancy iron gate. There is a light hanging down in front of the gate with a blue barred window to the left. You pass through the gate under an arch. There is then a blue urn to the right and across from the urn are floor to ceiling blue window bars. Continuing through the second arch it opens into a garden with green shrubbery in red brick planters. Along the back wall are concealed French doors, blue and arch shaped. Above these are blue wooden shuddered windows.
Any help to identify this painting would be helpful.
I scanned part of the painting but I do not know how to send it out now using “Ask”
It opened up a fissure 18 miles long.
Are there any multicultural or cross-cultural biases to Rorschach interpretation, or is it scored/interpreted the same way everywhere?

I”m considering moving to Las Vegas. I’m in my late 20s. I”m having trouble deciding between Sumerlin and Green Valley. Which is nicer? I’m considering Sumerlin or The Lakes.
There is an apartment that I like at Sahara and Durango. the zip code is 89117. Is this a safe area?
